Gordon & MacPhail Distillery Labels Glentauchers 2008 (46%)

This is a Speyside single malt from the Distillery Labels range, distilled at Glentauchers in 2008 and bottled independently by Gordon & MacPhail at 46% ABV. It was matured in sherry casks. The range reflects Gordon & MacPhail's long relationship with Scotland's distilleries. Here the fruit character of Glentauchers is joined by orchard fruit, fragrant spice and a little nuttiness. The nose offers stewed apple, vanilla pod, candied orange peel, raspberry compote and cinnamon. On the palate come apple, pear and demerara sugar, then clove, tangerine, aniseed and a hint of white pepper. The finish carries lingering spice and walnut.
