This is a 39-year-old Speyside single malt from Convalmore, released by Gordon & MacPhail in 2024 as part of its Recollections Series and bottled at 51.1% ABV.
The whisky was distilled on 4th October 1984 and matured in a refill sherry hogshead until it was bottled on 19th June 2024. The outturn is 108 bottles. Its colour is dark mahogany.
The nose combines treacle toffee, cinnamon and beeswax polish with stewed raisin and butterscotch. On the palate, clementine, stewed forest fruit and toasted hazelnut lead to Demerara sugar, coffee bean and dried banana. The finish is full, with black pepper and grapefruit zest.
