A straight rye whiskey made entirely from rye, produced by Grand Traverse Distillery in Traverse City, Michigan. The distillery mashes, distils, ages and bottles it on site, and it comes in a 75cl bottle at 50% ABV.
Its distinguishing feature is double barrel maturation, which adds roundness, texture and oak influence to the spicy backbone of the rye.
On the nose it shows rye spice, caramel, toasted oak, cracked pepper and warm grain. The palate is bold and structured, with brown sugar, peppery rye, oak, baking spice and toasted barrel. The finish is long and warming, with spice, oak and caramel sweetness.
