Green Isle Blended Scotch Whisky (70cl, 40%)

A smoky blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Islay malt forms the core of the blend, joined by Speyside malt and Lowland grain whiskies chosen to complement it. It comes from the makers of The Character of Islay Whisky Company, and the name draws on early descriptions of Islay and on Neil Gunn's novel The Green Isle of the Great Deep. The nose is softly toasted barley, warming oak, honey glazed apples and cut grass. The palate has vanilla pod, coastal peat, pear drops and crushed peppercorns, followed by a finish of dry smoke and buttery biscuits.
