Gusano Rojo Artesanal Mezcal (40%)

A classic smoky mezcal from Oaxaca, Mexico, made from 100% agave, typically Espadín. The agave hearts are roasted in underground pits, fermented naturally in open-air vats and typically double-distilled. The bottle contains the traditional gusano, described as symbolic rather than flavour-altering. It shows roasted agave, earthy smoke, damp earth and light spice on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with charred agave, smoky wood, black pepper and subtle herbal notes. The finish is warm and lingering, with persistent smoke, mild spice and earthy complexity.
