Hakushu – 25 Years Old New Release

Hakushu 25 Years Old New Release is a Japanese single malt from Suntory's Hakushu Distillery, set deep in the forest at Mt. Kaikomagatake. It has been aged for 25 years and has a reddish-amber colour. The malts chosen for it include creamy, woody malts, smoky malts with a hint of peat, and malts from Spanish oak barrels with rich fruit character. The nose brings chocolate, jam, mango and ripe persimmon. The palate is lightly acidic and creamy, with pronounced fruit sweetness, leading to a long, deep finish of smoky, fruity sweetness.
