Hart Brothers Blended Malt 17 Years Port Finish

This is a 17 year old blended malt from Hart Brothers, assembled by the company's master blender from selected single malt whiskies. It was then finished in first fill port pipes. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. Hart Brothers began as a wine and spirits wholesaler and Scotch whisky blender, founded in 1964 by the brothers Iain and Donald Hart. The nose is rich and cool, with cinnamon, chilled blackcurrants, mulled wine spice, vanilla, walnut shell and a faint hint of peat. The palate is dry, with mulled wine, port spice and oak, fairly mineral and slightly angular. The finish is dry and oaky, with orange and lime peel.
