Hazelburn – 7 Year Old 2018 Sherry Wood 2026 Edition (70cl, 47.9%)

The Hazelburn Sherry Wood is an annual limited release from Campbeltown, and this is the 2026 edition. It is 7 years old, matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 47.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Only 9,000 bottles were filled worldwide. Hazelburn is made by the Springbank family from air-dried, unpeated malt and distilled three times in copper stills. The tasting notes describe maraschino cherries, fudge, treacle, dates and brandy butter on the nose. The palate brings brown sugar, ginger, raisins and redcurrant jelly, and the finish is sweet and sticky, like toffee pudding, with blackcurrants, herbs and tarragon.
