Heaven's Door Decade Series 10 Year is a 10-year-old Tennessee bourbon, bottled at 50% in a 750ml bottle and matured in new charred oak barrels. The mashbill is 84% corn, 10% rye and 6% malted barley.
It is made without charcoal mellowing, the step usually associated with Tennessee whiskey. The brand has a co-founding link with Bob Dylan, whose iron gate artwork appears on every bottle.
Caramel, vanilla wafers, toasted oak and corn meal lead the nose. The palate is rich with caramel and corn sweetness, then orange peel, dried orchard fruit and honey, in a medium-full, lightly oily body. The finish is medium-long, with oak, caramel, dried fruit and baking spice.
