Hellyers Road – Original Roaring Forty (70cl, 40%)

Hellyers Road Original Roaring Forty is a Tasmanian whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40%. It is a new version of the distillery's first expression, Hellyers Road Original. The name honours the wind of Tasmania, which often blows at around 40 km an hour. It is distilled from malted barley grown in Tasmania, by a distillery founded by a group of farmers in the north-west of the island. The whisky matures in ex-bourbon American white oak casks and in European oak casks that held Oloroso sherry. The nose shows citrus, lemon and orange. The palate has vanilla sweetness, leading to a warm, toasted aftertaste that recalls freshly baked sourdough.
