Hillrock Double Cask Rye is an American rye whiskey, finished in Sauternes casks and bottled under the Hillrock name. It is estate-grown and crafted, and made entirely from rye.
Until now, Sauternes casks have been used mainly to age Scotch whiskies. This release is described as the first American estate-grown and crafted 100% rye whiskey to be aged in them, which sets the finish apart from the more familiar choices for rye.
