The Long Marriage is a 56 year old Scotch whisky from the Charles Gordon Collection of House of Hazelwood, bottled at 48.7% in a 70cl bottle. Malt and grain spirits were laid down together and aged side by side in a single cask for the whole 56 years.
The nose shows old polished oak, honeycomb, sandalwood and sweet pipe tobacco, with dried apricot, clove and leather. The palate has a silken texture, with baked orchard fruit, dark sugar and soft mint. The finish is long, with warming spices, fig, candied peel and an echo of seasoned wood.
