This is a Glenburgie single malt from Speyside, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2020 at 8 years old. It is batch eight of the Idols of Scotland series, dedicated to Sir Walter Scott.
The whisky was finished in a Jamaican rum cask and bottled at 46.5% ABV, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The outturn was 372 bottles.
The colour is pale straw. The nose is rich in cereal, balancing sweet and hearty notes with fresh pears, lime and a hint of oak. The palate is fresh and fruity, with sour drops, fruit gums and a touch of ginger. The finish is medium in length and very fruity, with apples, pears and gentle oak.
