Isaac Bowman Port Barrel Finished Bourbon is a bourbon finished in port barrels, in a 750ml bottle at 46% ABV. Its story goes back to 1927, when A. Smith Bowman bought the 7,200-acre Sunset Hills farm to run a dairy and granary.
The fields became so abundant that he needed a use for the excess grain, a moment that set the course of the Bowman legacy.
Tasting notes mention cherry and baked apple with jammy fruit, vanilla, brown spice and toasted pecans on the nose. The palate is bold and sweet with toasty French and American oak, and the finish is long and smooth.
