Islay Mist 12 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is made by MacDuff International.
The blend joins smoky Islay single malts with smoother mainland whiskies and is aged for 12 years. The Islay Mist blend was first created for a 1920s celebration on Islay, with the aim of softening the island's smoke.
The nose is gentle peat smoke with a coastal breeze, heather honey and dried fruit. The palate is mellow and smoky, with toffee, malt, light spice and charcoal. The finish is clean and lingering, as the smoke fades into sweet oak and a little brine.
