J.J. Corry The Gael (70cl, 46%)

J.J. Corry The Gael is an Irish whisky that blends malt and grain whiskies, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in sherry casks from Jerez, Spain, and bourbon casks from Kentucky, and includes some of the oldest whiskies from the company's flavour library, with ages ranging from 5 to 30 years. The nose is orchard fruit, with ripe red apple, white peaches and apricots, plus floral notes and hints of freshly cut grass and Douglas fir. On the palate, orange hard candy turns to candied orange peel, then to cooked stone fruit such as apricot frangipane tart and peach cobbler.
