Jack Daniel's No. 27 Gold Maple Wood Finish is a Tennessee whiskey made to the Old No. 7 recipe, charcoal-mellowed twice through sugar maple charcoal. After its first maturation in virgin white oak, it is matured further in golden-hued maple wood barrels. The maple character comes from those barrels, not from added flavouring.
Bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle with a gold label, it began as a travel-retail exclusive and is now released in select markets.
The nose is toasted oak and honey. The palate is rich and warm, with maple, oak, honey and dried fruit, followed by a smooth finish.
