- Oloroso sherry finish
A Jack Daniel's American single malt aged for around five years in new charred American oak, then finished in Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 45% ABV in a 1 litre bottle. It was one of the first Jack Daniel's single malts and the first with a sherry cask finish, and it is charcoal mellowed in the Tennessee way.
The colour is burnt amber. The nose pairs sherry sweetness with the familiar Jack Daniel's peanut note, alongside caramel, berry jam and a little herbaceous parsley. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, drier, with woody tannins. The finish brings rancio, tobacco leaf and leather.
Tasting Notes
Sherry sweetness with the classic peanut note, slight herbaceous parsley, caramel, berry jam, peanut butter, a little musty wood
Sweet sherry and peanut, parsley, caramel and berry jam, drier with woody tannins, medium-bodied and smooth
Rancio, tobacco leaf, leather, a light yeastiness of soft cheese, fading to light berry juice
