Jefferson's Marian McLain is a limited edition blend of straight bourbons, named for one of the earliest documented women in American whiskey, who was arrested for moonshining and bootlegging in 1799. It comes in a 750ml bottle at 102 proof (51%).
The blend combines well-aged bourbons, among them a wheated double-barrel bourbon and a bourbon finished in rum casks.
The nose shows caramel, vanilla bean, toasted oak, baking spice and a little molasses. The palate has rich toffee, honeyed sweetness, warm rye spice, dried fruit and soft oak, and the long, warming finish carries spice, caramelised sugar and gentle oak.
