Jefferson's Rye is a Kentucky straight rye whiskey, bottled at 47% in a 750ml bottle. It is double-barrelled, finished for 9 to 19 months in hand-selected cognac casks.
The cognac finish replaces the dry ending usually found in rye with something thicker and sweeter. Jefferson's was founded in 1997 by Trey Zoeller and his father Chet.
On the nose, rich rye spice comes with delicate fruit and oak. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with honey, orange and warm baking spices, and the finish is velvety, with lingering sweetness.
