John Brown's 12 Years Old Special de Luxe 1960s-70s (75cl)

A 12-year-old blended whisky from John Brown, the Special de Luxe, in a 75cl bottle and dating from the 1960s or 1970s. The nose is soft and aromatic, with caramel, honey and vanilla, a fruity background of candied orange, apple and apricot, a delicate touch of old oak and a very light, ashy smokiness. The palate is medium-bodied with a gentle attack, bringing sweet fruit, creamy vanilla, toasted caramel and mild spice such as cinnamon. The finish is of medium length, warm and oily, with a hint of spice, vanilla and smoky oak.
