John Brown's Special Blended 1960s/70s (75cl)

John Brown's Special Blended is an older blended whisky from the 1960s or 1970s, in a 75cl bottle. The nose opens with vanilla syrup, toasted sugar and caramel. Many years in the bottle have added hints of old varnished furniture and beeswax, with a slightly herbal background. The palate is light to medium in body, with a balanced syrupy sweetness, gentle spice and a subtle citrus bitterness. It tastes less alcoholic than expected. The finish is short to medium, mostly dry and slightly bitter, leaving a clean aftertaste of old wood and spiced tea.
