John Walker & Sons King George V CNY 2023 (75cl)

John Walker & Sons King George V CNY 2023 is a limited-edition blended malt made for the Lunar New Year, in a 75cl bottle. The label design is by fashion designer Angel Chen. It is drawn from rare casks, including whisky from the closed Port Ellen distillery, alongside Speyside and Highland malts. The nose is sweet and smoky, followed by orange, raisins, figs and cinnamon. The palate shows spice and dried fruit balanced by vanilla, opening into sweet fruit, dark chocolate, toffee and roasted nuts. The finish is long, with a coastal smokiness from the Port Ellen that builds as it goes.
