A 12 year old Johnnie Walker from the Black Label Origin series, made only from Highland malt whiskies, among them Clynelish and Teaninich. It is bottled at 42% abv in a one litre bottle. The series explores the flavours of individual regions of Scotland, and this bottling focuses on those of the Highlands, with a fruity and spicy character. The nose is reminiscent of fruit cake, with marmalade and fresh wine, taking on a little tobacco with time. The palate is very fruity, with both dried and fresh fruit and a winey note like cognac. The finish brings marzipan and dried apricot.
