Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami (70cl, 43%)

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami is a blended Scotch whisky built on the Blue Label blend. It was created by Dr Emma Walker, Johnnie Walker's master blender, together with the Japanese chef Kei Kobayashi, who set out to capture umami in a whisky. The whiskies come from casks at inland and coastal distilleries, chosen at their peak for an umami character. The blend is described as balancing sweet and savoury flavours, with blood orange, red berries, spiced wood, and a little smoked meat with pepper and salt. On the nose it is sweet and savoury, with fresh green and red apples and a confectionery sweetness with traces of cashew.
