Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V is a blended Scotch whisky made to mark the Royal Warrant granted to John Walker & Sons by King George V in 1934. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The blend draws on whiskies from distilleries that were working during the king's reign, among them Port Ellen on Islay, which is now silent.
The nose offers dried fruit, citrus zest, sweet spice, honey, vanilla and gentle smoke. The palate has dark chocolate, dried fruit, roasted nuts, warming spice, toffee and a delicate smokiness. The finish is long, with lingering sweetness, soft smoke and spice.
