Johnnie Walker Blue Label Legendary Eight (70cl, 43.8%)

Johnnie Walker Blue Label Legendary Eight is a blended Scotch whisky bottled at 43.8% in a 70cl bottle. It is one of a series of releases marking the 200th anniversary of John Walker's first steps in whisky. Each whisky in the blend was chosen by hand from eight distilleries that existed when John Walker began: Lagavulin, Oban, Teaninich, Blair Athol, Brora, Carsebridge, Port Dundas and Cambus. Some of these come from distilleries that have since closed. The nose has layers of brown sugar, soft fruit and sweet wood, then green apple and a subtle peel, with gentle peat behind. The palate is sweet, with stone fruit, baked apples and cocoa. The finish is soft and lightly peppery, with a touch of smoke.
