A blended Scotch whisky from Johnnie Walker, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. It was first released for the travel retail market.
Double Black pairs the malty character of Black Label with whiskies of a more peaty style and casks that were charred more heavily, giving a smoky profile.
The nose is slightly smoky and almost medicinal, with vanilla, a little tar, citrus and malt. The palate is creamy and malty with peat smoke, salty butter and custard, and the finish carries malt, black pepper and cool smoke.
