Johnnie Walker Red Label is a blended Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% in a 1.75 litre format. The Johnnie Walker company created it in 1909.
It pairs spicy, smoky malts with lighter grains, and it suits mixing as well as drinking neat.
The nose is rich and aromatic, with heather honey, mixed peels, soft smoke and rum spice. On the palate come cedar wood, oak, butterscotch, aniseed, Christmas cake and malt. The finish is long and spiced, with smoke lingering at the end.
