Johnnie Walker The Ultimate 18 Year Old is a Scotch blend made for travel retail, combining malt and grain whiskies that have each matured for at least eighteen years. The whiskies come from several Scottish regions and mostly rest in ex-bourbon casks, with sherry casks adding darker fruit. The blender sets the proportions batch by batch. Ripe fruit and oak lead, with a gentle touch of smoke. The nose offers orange marmalade, honey and toasted oak. On the palate come ripe pear, vanilla and dark chocolate with a light smoky note, full and creamy in texture. The finish is long and warm, with spice and a dry, woody close.
