Journeyman Not a King Rye Whiskey (50cl, 45%)

Not a King is a rye whiskey from Journeyman Distillery in the USA, bottled at 45% in a 50cl bottle and made as a nod to George Washington's original rye recipe. The name refers to his reply, after victory over the British, that America was a republic and he was not a king. Rye leads the mash, with a share of corn alongside it. The colour is natural. On the palate the sweetness of the corn comes first, followed by the rich, buttery character of the rye. The finish is long, soft and sweet, with a light smokiness.
