Jura 18 Year Old is an island single malt from the Isle of Jura Distillery, founded in 1810, and part of the Signature Series. It is bottled at 44% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The whisky spends 18 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then is finished in Premier Grand Cru Classé Bordeaux red wine barriques. The nose has toffee, cinnamon, dark cherries, plums and sultanas, with a distant hint of coastal smoke. The palate brings cooked raspberries and black forest fruits over creamy vanilla, with warm spice and dark chocolate. The finish is long, with bitter chocolate, espresso, red fruit and a touch of smoke.
