This is Whisky Sponge Edition No. 97, a 30 year old Isle of Jura single malt distilled in 1994. It was matured in a single refill hogshead and bottled at natural cask strength, with 203 bottles produced.
Decadent Drinks chose the cask from Jura alongside a Bruichladdich cask from Islay. Both are unpeated and both matured fully on their islands.
It is described as pure and distillate-driven, an old-school, well-aged Jura. The character is mineral, waxy and herbal, with a coastal, island edge, and it is likened to a bone-dry, aged Chenin Blanc.
