Kanosuke – 'Double Distillery' Blended Japanese Whisky

A blended Japanese whisky from Kanosuke, a distillery in Kagoshima Prefecture on the southern island of Kyushu, set along Fukiagehama Beach, the longest sand beach in Japan. The distillery was founded in 2017 by the Shochu producer Komasa Jyozo and became operational in 2018. It works with three Miyake copper pot stills, each with a different neck shape and lyne arm angle, which gives the distillers plenty of room to layer and blend distillates. Coastal sea spray and sharp seasonal swings in temperature shape the maturing whisky, adding minerality and salinity to the casks.
