Kanosuke Hioki Pot Still Japanese Whisky (70cl, 51%)

Kanosuke Hioki Pot Still is a Japanese pot still whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 51% ABV. It is made at Hioki Distillery in Kagoshima, the second distillery of the Komasa family. The mash is malted and unmalted barley in the Irish pot still style. It is distilled in a stainless steel pot still under vacuum, a method borrowed from the family's shochu making, which lowers the boiling point and keeps delicate aromatics intact. This bottle is the pot still component of the Kanosuke Double Distillery blend, offered on its own. Expect stone fruit and citrus with vanilla on the nose, a creamy palate of orchard fruit, almond and soft vanilla, and a clean, gently spiced finish.
