Kanosuke Hioki Pot Still Japanese Whisky (70cl)

This is a Japanese pot still whisky in a 70cl bottle, made at the Hioki Distillery in Kagoshima Prefecture, southern Kyushu. The distillery was established in 1883 as a shochu producer and began making whisky in 2020. It is distilled in stainless steel pot stills, in a style inspired by Irish pot still whiskey. The nose is delicate vanilla, oak and subtle sweetness. The palate brings caramel, dried fruit and a touch of spice, with some creaminess. The finish is long and warm.
