Kanosuke – Single Malt Japanese Whisky 2023 Limited Edition (70cl, 59%)

Kanosuke Single Malt Japanese Whisky 2023 is the 2023 Limited Edition from the Kanosuke Distillery in Kagoshima, Japan. It is a single malt bottled at a natural cask strength of 59%, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring, in a 70cl bottle. The malt was distilled in 2018 and 2019 from unpeated barley and barley peated to 50 ppm, double-distilled in three copper pot stills. It matured for an average of four to five years in ex-bourbon casks, re-charred American oak casks that previously held the family's Mellowed Kozuru rice shochu, and sherry casks. On the nose it shows cinnamon, pastry custard, banana and smoky incense. The palate brings black tea, salted caramel and baking spice, and the finish is dry, with salty-sweet smoke.
