Kapena Chili Infused Tequila is a reposado tequila made from 100% Blue Weber agave from the Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico. It is matured for approximately nine months in American oak barrels before being infused with Hawaiian chili peppers known as nioi. The peppers measure 50,000 to 100,000 Scoville heat units and contribute both heat and fruit-forward character.
The nose shows roasted agave, citrus peel, caramel, tropical fruit and subtle chili spice. The palate is smooth reposado richness layered with pineapple, caramelized sugar, lemon zest and warming pepper heat. The finish is long and spicy with lingering chili warmth balanced by sweet agave and light oak.
