This is the first batch of The Last Masterpieces, a limited-edition Japanese single malt from the Karuizawa Distillery. It is bottled at a cask strength of 49.3% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky was distilled in 1999 and 2000 and matured in ex-Sherry butts. The series pairs traditional Japanese colours with script by the Kanji artist Souun Takeda. The distillery stood in the foothills of Mount Asama in Nagano Prefecture. It was founded in 1955 by the wine company Daikoku Budoshu and used Golden Promise barley imported from Scotland.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
