This is the sixth batch of The Last Masterpieces, a limited-edition Japanese single malt from the Karuizawa Distillery, bottled at a cask strength of 51.1% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was distilled in 1999 and 2000 and matured in ex-Sherry butts. Each release in the series carries a traditional Japanese colour and script by the Kanji artist Souun Takeda. Karuizawa was founded in 1955 by the wine company Daikoku Budoshu, in the foothills of Mount Asama in Nagano Prefecture. Its water was filtered through volcanic rock from the mountain.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
