Kentucky Peerless Double Oak Bourbon (75cl)

Kentucky Peerless Double Oak is a barrel-proof sweet-mash bourbon from Louisville, distilled, aged and bottled by Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. It is non-chill-filtered and bottled at about 108 proof, which varies a little from batch to batch, in a 75cl bottle. The bourbon spends at least four years in new charred American oak, then moves into a second set of new barrels, medium-toasted and charred to #3 by Kelvin Cooperage, for finishing. The release began with a leaky barrel given a second chance and became a permanent bottling in September 2021. The nose brings sweet oak, orange zest, cedar, tobacco and herbs. Honey sweetness on the palate turns to cinnamon, spicy oak, leather and cocoa, and the finish is sweet toasted oak with dry cocoa.
