Kentucky Peerless Double Oak Rye Whiskey (75cl)

Kentucky Peerless Double Oak is a barrel proof Kentucky straight rye whiskey in a 750ml bottle. It is made from a strictly sweet mash, distilled, aged and bottled at the Kentucky Peerless distillery in Louisville, and bottled non-chill filtered with no water added. The name describes the method: the whiskey is exposed to two separate new oak casks, giving two full barrel extractions. The distillery's tasting team chooses which barrels receive the second cask. The rye followed the bourbon version and arrived in November 2022. The nose brings roasted nuts, citrus zest and sweet oak. On the palate come toasted sugar, bold oak, cinnamon and sweet grasses, with leather and tobacco later on. The finish returns to sweet oak.
