Kentucky Peerless Small Batch Rye Whiskey (75cl)

Kentucky Peerless Small Batch Rye is a Kentucky straight rye in a 750ml bottle, made from grain to glass at the Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. in downtown Louisville. It is bottled at barrel proof with no water added and is not chill-filtered, so the strength varies from batch to batch. Every batch starts with fresh water and grain, as the distillery uses a strictly sweet mash. The Kentucky Peerless name was built by Henry Kraver in Henderson from 1889. Production stopped in 1917, and his great-grandson Corky Taylor revived the brand in Louisville with Carson, Corky's son, distilling again from 2015. The rye is described as showing maple and brown sugar with light citrus sweetness and a hint of oak through the finish.
