Kilchoman – 11 Year Old Sherry Cask Matured 100% Islay (70cl, 50%)

This is an 11 year old Kilchoman single malt, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle. It is made entirely on Islay, from barley grown, malted and bottled on the island. The barley comes from the 2011, 2012 and 2013 harvests, and the whisky matured for at least 11 years in 16 ex-Oloroso sherry butts. Dried fruits and spices sit alongside the distillery's citrus sweetness and peat smoke. The nose is described as orange peel, dried fruits, light peat smoke and sweet spices. The palate brings rich smoke and dark chocolate with honey, cooked apples and malty sweetness, and the finish has grilled fruits, plums, currants and lasting wood smoke.
