Kilchoman – 2015/2023 7 Year Old Bourbon Cask #476/2015 (70cl, 56%)

This Kilchoman is a single cask Islay malt matured entirely in one bourbon barrel, number 476/2015, with no finish in another cask. It carries an age statement of seven years, having been distilled on 8 July 2015 and bottled on 7 June 2023 at 56%. The cask gave 245 bottles, non-chill-filtered and without added colour. It is part of the Uniquely Islay Series, An Samhradh 2023. Fresh peat smoke and orange peel meet on the nose, with light spice. The palate is full and round, with orange peel, vanilla, caramel, peat smoke and spicy oak. The finish is of medium length, with peat smoke, tropical fruit, vanilla and oak.
