Kilchoman – Batch Strength (70cl, 57%)

Kilchoman Batch Strength is an Islay single malt bottled at 57% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtering or added colour. It has been part of the permanent range since 2024. The whisky matures in re-charred red wine casks, Oloso sherry butts and bourbon barrels. The red wine casks add red fruit and caramel sweetness to peat smoke, citrus, dark fruit and strong spice. The malt has a peat level of 50 ppm, and only a little water is added after maturation. The nose combines red fruits, fresh cherries and heather blossom with intense peat smoke. The palate has toffee, strong spice and vanilla with lasting peat. The finish is long and silky, recalling buttered pastry and honey.
