Kilchoman – Cognac Cask Matured 2023 Edition (50%)

This is the 2023 release of Kilchoman Cognac Cask Matured, the first time the Islay distillery has matured whisky in Cognac casks. It is bottled at 50% ABV. The release draws on 32 Cognac casks from the Tonellerie Bossuet cooperage in France. They were matured in Kilchoman's own warehouses for at least six years. Each cask has its own aroma, and together they give a rich, herbal-sweet spiciness that sits alongside the maritime peat smoke of the distillery.
