An Islay single malt from Kilchoman, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. This is the distillery's second Fino release, following the first in 2020, and it is limited to 15,650 bottles worldwide.
The whisky was matured in 20 selected Fino sherry butts from Bodega Jose y Miguel Martin in Spain. The 2023 release brings out green apple, stewed fruit and sweet citrus, while Kilchoman's peat smoke stays present on the palate.
The nose opens with dry peat smoke, then fruit, smoked oak and sweet butterscotch. The palate offers honeycomb, toffee, caramel, candied fruit, citrus and flaked almonds. The finish is long, with ripe citrus, gentle peat smoke and dark chocolate.
