Kilchoman – Genesis Malting Stage 2 (70cl, 49.2%)

Genesis Malting is the second bottling in Kilchoman's Genesis series. After the Harvest release, it turns attention to malting. It is an Islay single malt distilled from Concerto barley from Port Ellen and from Concerto and Laureate barley from Kilchoman, and matured in bourbon, Sauternes and Oloroso casks. It is bottled at 49.2% in a 70cl bottle, non-chill filtered and of natural colour, from an outturn of 4,200 bottles. The nose offers maritime smoke, vanilla, apple, lime and light spice. The palate is creamy, with saltiness, smoke, soft fruit, oak and peppery spice. The finish is medium in length, led by smoke with fruity and spicy notes.
