Kilchoman – Genesis Stage 2 Malting Limited Edition (49.2%)

Kilchoman Genesis Stage 2 is a limited edition bottled at 49.2% ABV. It is the second release in a series that follows the making of Kilchoman whisky, and it looks at malting. The barley is a mix of Concerto and Laureate malted at Kilchoman, together with Concerto malted by Port Ellen Maltings. Maturation took place in bourbon, Sauternes and sherry casks. It is described as opening with intense floral sweetness, then rich spices, plums, dates and leather, followed by grilled fruit, malt and vanilla. The finish brings clean, fresh peat smoke and citrus sweetness.
